Tips

  1. This recipe requires besan (gram flour) to make the batter. Fine besan should be used in batter.

  2. Rest the besan batter for 20 minutes as besan requires some time to fluff in the batter.

  3. Besan (gram flour) batter should be of flowing consistency. The batter should not be thick so that the pancake (Cheela) is made thin on pan.

  4. You can also add cumin seeds (jeera), grounded flaxseeds in the batter to improve its health benefits. Also vegetables can be added according to your taste and season.

  5. Pan (tava) should be used in which two breads can easily fit simultaneouly side by side.

  6. Besan (gram flour) pancake should completely cover the whole pan (tave).
