There are many different types of salsas in Mexican cuisine. That said, one of the most popular and well known is definitely red salsa. It makes an appearance at almost every Mexican restaurant, and is almost always served with meals in Mexican homes.
Tips
- Grilled tomatoes add great flavor & smoky taste to the salsa recipe.
- Salsa taste best when made fresh and consumed immediately, If you need to store the salsa for longer duration then avoid using onions as it has water content which reduce the shelf life. Store salsa in air tight container and while serving add diced onions.

- Tomato - 4 portion
- Kashmiri Red Chilli - 8 to 10 portion
Preparation of Salsa
- Chopped Onion - 1 cup
- Chopped Tomato - 1 cup
- Chopped Jalapeno - 2 tbsp or to taste
- Tomato & Red Chilli Puree - to taste
- Salt - 1 tsp or to taste
- Chaat Masala - 1 tsp or to taste
- Taco Masala - 1 tsp or to taste
- Lemon Juice - 2 tbsp or to taste

- Nachos

- Dry roast the red chilli
- Add tomatoes to air fryer or grill them for 5 mins, this gives smoky flavor to salsa.
- Grind the red chilli and roaster or grilled tomatoes to thick paste.
- The puree is ready.

- Add finely diced chopped onions, tomatoes and puree to a mixing bowl.
- Add Jalapeno to taste which gives tangy flavor.
- Add coriander, salt, chaat masala, taco seasoning & lemon juice to taste.
- Mexican traditional Salsa is ready.
- Serve with Tortillas Chips or Nachos.
